Best vintage shops in Milan

If you’ll get bored from walking around similarly luxurious stores in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II or not less beautiful and predictable boutiques of fashion giants like Prada, Gucci and Versace, pay a visit to these 5 shops. In these places time has no power over clothes and items on shelves look like art-installation objects. I can compare shopping in such places with reading an interesting storybook: every chapter is a new thrilling story.

1. Vintage Delirium by Franco Jacassi

Via Giuseppe Sacchi, 3

One of the most respected and influential vintage shops, which draws attention of all the guests of Milan fashion week right after Miu Miu boutique. Here you can find unique items which were collected from around the world by the owner of the shop - Franco Jacassi. For instance, Chanel costume jewellery, which was created while the great Coco was still alive, the rarest models of Hermes bags and famous YSL tuxedos which were literally dropped from the shoulders of Liza Minnelli and Catherine Deneuve.

2. Madame Pauline Vintage

Foro Buonaparte, 74

You can find the best collection of vintage costume jewellery in whole Milan. Also this place has amazing selection of bags (all in excellent condition), from nameless small circle bags which were embroidered with beads in times of Fitzgerald, to the famous neon Prada backpack, which was a huge trend in 90-x thanks to Linda Evangelista.

3. Lipstick Vintage

Corso Garibaldi, 79

This is the favourite vintage shop of well-known Italian fashionistas Chiara Ferragni, Giovanna Battaglia and Paola Fiorido. This boutique looks more like a museum: jewellery and accessories of XX (starting from 1910) century are displayed in glass showcases. They even have a separate room where clothing pieces from XVIII and XIX centuries are collected. But unfortunately, these “exhibits” are not on sale.

4. Cavalli e Nastri

Via Gian Giacomo Mora, 12

06 Cavallie Nastri

This is one of my favourite shops in Milan, which I always “promote” to my friends. The shop has a very girly cute interior and pink walls as if you are in a bakery. Here you can find anything which pops out in your mind while thinking about vintage. Moreover, Cavalli e Nastri has an online shop so ones who cannot make it to Milan can shop here online.

5. East Market

Via Privata Giovanni Ventura, 14

Unlike all other places listed above this is not a shop but a flea market, which opens on Sundays in an old building, which once belonged to an electronics company. Anyone can buy and sell anything he or she wants. It goes without saying that vintage clothes receive increased attention here! However, one should visit this place not only because of shopping but also for the authentic atmosphere.
